This workshop will introduce participants to XR (Extended Reality) technologies, with a special focus on leveraging Unity game engine. Whether you're new to XR or looking to deepen your understanding, it will provide an insightful overview of the current landscape, industries, and real-world applications.

As part of the L-DIH “Test Before Invest” initiative, this workshop provides a clear breakdown of XR technologies, including AR (Augmented Reality), VR (Virtual Reality), and MR (Mixed Reality). You'll also gain insight into Unity, the leading 3D engine for developing immersive experiences, and an overview of the latest XR headsets.

Using concrete industrial applications, you will discover how XR is transforming industries such as healthcare (e.g., medical training), entertainment (e.g., gaming and movies), and military/defence (e.g., training simulations). We'll explore real-world use cases, showing how XR is pushing the boundaries of what's possible.

Detailed examples such as an H2020 project aimed at aiding first responders, and AR-driven remote industrial maintenance, will further provide a clearer picture of the practical benefits of XR in action. By attending, you’ll also gain hands-on experience by learning how to integrate AR into Unity and deploy it on XR headsets. We'll provide guidance on how to collaborate with Unity for AR implementation and show you a real-life demo. The training will be conducted in both English and French languages. It targets professionals from industry with basic coding knowledge. Participation is limited to between 6 and 12 attendees.
