The L-DIH Talks is a series of webinars designed to inspire future-oriented manufacturing companies eager to leverage emerging technologies to stay ahead of the curve. Held twice a month, the series provides essential insights, expert advice and connections to drive the digital transformation of the sector in Luxembourg and the Greater Region. 

October marks European Cybersecurity Month (ECSM), an annual EU-wide initiative to raise awareness of cybersecurity threats and promote safer online practices across citizens and organisations. As part of this campaign, the Luxembourg Digital Innovation Hub (L-DIH) at Luxinnovation is contributing with a practical webinar designed specifically for small and medium-sized enterprises. Cybersecurity is a business continuity imperative. This webinar gives SMEs across Luxembourg and the Greater Region the knowledge and reflexes they need to protect both their IT infrastructure and their operational technology (OT), in line with Luxembourg's digital agenda, the EU digital strategy and frameworks such as GDPR.

Overview

It is a reality: small and medium-sized enterprises are increasingly targeted by cyberattacks, often because they hold valuable data but have fewer defences in place. A single incident can halt production, expose customer information and damage hard-won trust.

This webinar gives you a clear, practical starting point. We cover the essentials every SME should have in place, explained in plain language with no technical background required.

Just as importantly, we look at two sides of security that are often confused: 

  • protecting your IT systems (email, files, business software)
  • and protecting your OT — the production machines and industrial control systems that keep operations running.

The risks and the responses are not the same, and we explain the difference simply.
